PRO TIP

RUCK RESPONSIBLY!

Some tips that’ll keep you rucking merrily are:

⚬ Maintain good posture. If your shoulders and hip flexors need a break, and feel yourself leaning forward in response, your lower back is gonna be hurting in the morning. This is a sign that you have too much weight in your backpack. Like everything else you do that’s fitness-related, once your form starts to falter, ease off the weight. Good form is always king.

⚬ Make sure the weight in your pack is stable – it will get uncomfortable fast if it shifts with every step!

⚬ Set your backpack so it is close to your back, and higher up on your back over your center of gravity. It should pull your shoulders back into a comfortable, stable position; but the straps shouldn’t be so tight that they cut off circulation. Nobody wants that!

⚬ Don’t fill your bag with more than 1/3 of your bodyweight.
